EQ-i 2.0 Certification Workshop

A new offering for iCoach Global.  For the first time we’re officially collaborating with Dr. Scott Livingston, an exceptional executive coach and noted EQ training expert who offers EQ i 2.0 Certification Workshop in collaboration with MHS, the EQ-i 2.0 publisher.


Jeremy Robinson, MCC, MSW, Executive Director at iCoach Global and Scott Livingston, Ed.D, are joining forces to offer two EQ-i Workshops - one in the summer and the other in the fall this year.

Pre-Certification Preparation:


  1. Purchase and read the book "The EQ Edge" - it is estimated it would take the average reader approximately 6 hours to read this book cover to cover. 

  2. Complete the EQ-i 2.0 Assessment - Approximately 30 minutes

  3. EQ-i Debrief of your assessment - 30 minutes

  4. Complete the (3) eLearning modules - Approximately 3 hours 


Total of 10 hours of asynchronous pre-work.

Day 1


9 AM -10 AM (1 hour)

Instructors: Jeremy Robinson, MCC, MSW and Scott  Livingston, Ed.D.


Description: 

Welcome to the course. Establishing Goals for each participant as it relates  to his/her coaching. How do you want to integrate use of emotional  intelligence and EQ assessment into your coaching practice? How would you like us to hold you accountable after our Workshop has ended?

10 AM -12 PM (2 hours)

Description:

Understanding the EQ-i Model. How does it fit into  understanding your Client either in working with them individually or in the  context of Executive Coaching? How can you use discussion about  emotional intelligence domains to forward the action in helping your Clients  increase their Self-Awareness? What practical awareness will your Client  gain from this assessment?


Core Competency:

Cultivates Trust and Safety; Evokes Awareness. 


12 PM - 12:45 PM - Lunch Break

 

12:45 PM - 2:00 PM (1 hour, 15 minutes)

Description:

Going through your own EQ Self-Assessment  Reports. Understanding key points of the report and how to help your  Client focus on the most useful information so Clients can best integrate this  information in terms of behavior change.

2:00 PM - 3:45 PM (1hour, 45 minutes)

Instructors: Robinson & Livingston


Description: 

Forming into Dyads and Triads, practice coaching using the your EQ  Assessment Results. Each participant will have an opportunity to coach at least two other participants and receive coaching from two other  participants on their EQ- I 2.0 Assessment while Robinson & Livingston observe the dyads and triads. 


Core Competency:

Establishing Trust & Intimacy with the Client, Coaching  Presence and Designing Actions. 


3:45PM - 4:00 PM

Break


4:00 PM - 4:30 PM (30 minutes)

Instructors: Robinson & Livingston


Description:

Review of specific learning from dyads and triads. What is each  participant learning that they might bring to their own coaching practice?  What mistakes and accomplishments can they learn from what they did? do  How will each of us use this with a specific coaching Client we now have or  hope to have in the future?

Evokes Awareness; Establishes and Maintains Agreements; and Facilitates Client Growth.


4:30 PM - 5:30 PM (1 hour)

Day 2 Preparation Evening Work

(1 hour, 30 minutes)


Description: 

Two cases study EQ-i 360 reports will be reviewed. Client & Coach Report for Case study David Duncan. Client & Coach Report for Case study Jenny Doe.


 

Day 2


9 AM -10 AM (1 hour)

Description: 

Begin with questions, concerns or doubts from Day 1. When should we be wary of using this assessment tool? Should EQ-I 2.0 be  used as a Selection tool in organizations? Why not? What do we do in terms  of managing our Client when clinical issues surface in the process of using  this tool? How do we best and most empathically go about making a referral  to another professional who isn’t a coach in the best interests of the Client?

10 AM -12 PM (2 hours)

Description:

EI as a transformational lens in helping to change the lives of  our Clients. Instructors will present sanitized case material from their  experiences working with real Clients showing how using EI and the EQ-I 2.0  Assessment helped transform the lives of these Clients. Workshop  participants will be encouraged to share their own experiences in using EI  as a tool personally or with Clients and discuss the kinds of results they’ve  noticed thus far in their coaching work.

12 PM - 12:30 PM - Lunch Break

 

12:30 PM - 1:30 PM (1 hour)

Description:

Learning to navigate and use the MHS Portal to  generate reports and input information. Resource Development [RD]. 


1:30 PM - 3:00 PM (1 hour 30 minutes)

Instructors: Robinson & Livingston


Description: 

Using the EQ-i 360 in Organizations. How do we help Clients work with  their Managers to select participants based on rater familiarity? How can  you help your coaching Client prepare each of their rater participants? Dos  and Don’t of going through an electronic 360 with a Client. What is the  contract with the Client’s Manager about this Assessment Report? Clarity  for the Coach about who is the Client.

Demonstrates Ethical Practice. Cultivates Trust and Safety. Facilitates Client Growth.


3:00PM - 3:15 PM

Break


3:15 PM - 4:15 PM (1 hour)

Instructors: Robinson & Livingston


Description:

Participants break into dyads and triads and review Coaching  360 Reports with their Clients. Each participant gets one opportunity to  work as a coach and one to work as a Client. Return from the larger group  and process individual learning in the use of the 360 Report. Possible  mistakes we might make and how we can anticipate them. Opportunities  presented by the EQ-I 360 Report in working with organizations.  Confidentiality concerns involved in using this Report.

4:15 PM - 5:15 PM (1 hour)

Summary and takeaways from the Workshop.

Post Workshop Participants have 2 hours to complete the certification Exam.  We recommend participants take the certification Exam as soon as they can after completing Workshop.
